Presidentens verkställande kontor

Varje dag ställs USA:s president inför ett stort antal beslut, vart och ett med viktiga konsekvenser för USA:s framtid. För att ge presidenten det stöd som han eller hon behöver för att regera effektivt skapades Executive Office of the President (EOP) 1939 av president Franklin D. Roosevelt. EOP har ansvar för uppgifter som sträcker sig från att förmedla presidentens budskap till det amerikanska folket till att främja våra handelsintressen utomlands.

Overste av Vita husets stabschef har EOP traditionellt varit hemvist för många av presidentens närmaste rådgivare.
